REPORT FROM THE AREA ASSEMBLY
At The Coastal Plains Area Assembly the Council elected officers for the coming year: Andy Brink, FCC, Pasadena,Moderator; Rev. Brenda Warren, FCC,Beaumont, Moderator-Elect; Lynne Haley,Kingwood CC, Treasurer; and Susan Pain, Memorial Drive CC, Secretary
A special “thank you” to the Kingwood congregation for hosting the assembly. The ministerial staff and members worked hard to prepare for the Council meeting and Assembly. The worship service and lemonade reception were appreciated by everyone. Rev. Madella Williams and J D Rose led activities for children and youth.
During the Assembly, we were blessed by quite a variety of musical offerings. Groups from Jarvis Christian College, Kingwood, Pasadena, Iglesia Cristina Shekinah, and CPA Youth brought inspirational music. The music led by Rev. Rhona Brink and Dr. Rob Hunt was exceptional.
The keynote speaker, Jarvis Christian College President, Dr. Cornell Thomas gave a memorable sermon. His positive attitude about expressions of Faith, Education and "Thriving not Surviving" were wonderfully received by everyone.
